This 14.5 x 22 cm hardcover book with dustjacket was first published in 1954 by Angus & Robertson. This is a first edition. “This is the first published account of the experiences of an Australian Army Nursing Sister in the hands of the Japanese… The story begins with the evacuation of the Australian nurses from Singapore and the sinking of the Vyner Brooke, on which many of them were travelling. Illustrations by J.P.L. Kickhefer, 204 pages, the dust-cover is showing signs of wear and there is some browning of page edges, but the book is still in very good condition.
